Search for two missing minors in Idaho: suspect link with polygamy church
The minors, Rachelle Fischer, 15, and Allen Fischer, 13, were last seen on the night of Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Monteview
Authorities in eastern Idaho are intensively searching for two missing teenage siblings, in a case that has raised concerns about their possible ties to the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS), a polygamist sect. split from traditional Mormonism.
The minors, Rachelle Fischer, 15, and Allen Fischer, 13, were last seen on the night of Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Monteview, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. An Amber Alert has since been issued in Idaho.
Their mother, Elizabeth Roundy, a former member of the FLDS, told the ABC affiliate in Salt Lake City that she believes her children voluntarily went with their older sister, out of what they consider a religious duty.
“They were willing to go because they believe it is their salvation,” Roundy said.
FLDS Connection Suspected
Roundy fears the case is linked to a larger pattern involving new “revelations” from imprisoned FLDS leader Warren Jeffs, who from prison has urged the children of former members to return to the sect, according to documents obtained by ABC News.
In 2023, Roundy’s oldest daughter, Elintra Dee Fischer, disappeared under similar circumstances and has not been located since.
The children were last seen wearing clothing traditional FLDS dress. Rachelle was wearing a dark green prairie-style dress, and Allen was wearing a light blue shirt, jeans, and black slip-on shoes.
Authorities describe the children as:
Rachelle Fischer: 5'6", 130 lbs, brown hair, blue eyes.
Allen Fischer: 5'7", 130 lbs, long strawberry-blonde hair, blue eyes.
Authorities believe the teens may be trying to return to Trenton, Utah, where they previously resided as part of the FLDS community.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has asked anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Rachelle and Allen Fischer to immediately contact them at 208-745-9210.
The case remains under active investigation, and authorities are not ruling out the possibility that more minors may be at risk due to the activities of the FLDS, whose leader Warren Jeffs is serving a life sentence for sexual assault of minors but continues to issue warrants from prison.
