It has been a month since the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. The chances of this war stopping are not visible far and wide. More than 11 thousand people have died so far. Due to this conflict the condition of Gaza Strip is getting worse. United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has once again warned about the deteriorating situation in Gaza. He says that Gaza is becoming a graveyard for children.
More than a humanitarian crisis...
Guterres told reporters in New York that the situation in Gaza is much worse than the humanitarian crisis. This is a crisis of humanity. He said the need for a ceasefire is becoming more urgent with each passing hour. He said the parties to the conflict, and indeed, the international community, face an urgent and fundamental responsibility. The international community has a responsibility to stop this inhuman suffering and expand humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
Many UN employees have been killed
The UN chief said 89 people working for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) have been killed since the Israel-Hamas war began a month ago. He gave this information on social media platform X on Monday night. 'The highest number of UN aid workers have been killed in recent weeks in the history of our organisation,' he said.
