Donald Trump refuses to accept military support offered by the United Kingdom to confront Iran
In a tone of rejection directed at the UK government, Donald Trump indicated that he did not need their support when he was winning the war
After London issued an offer to send aircraft carriers to the Middle East with the aim of reinforcing the region's security and, incidentally, the US military offensive implemented against the Islamic Republic, the conservative politician who governs from Washington refused to accept the support allegedly offered by Keir Starmer.
“The United Kingdom, our once great ally, perhaps the greatest of all, is finally seriously considering sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East. Don't worry, Prime Minister Starmer, we don't need them anymore. But we will remember,” he wrote on the Truth Social platform.
The position taken by the 79-year-old Republican comes in response to an announcement from the UK Ministry of Defence, where it stated it was preparing a second aircraft carrier to join HMS Dragon, a Royal Army unit already en route to the Middle East.
To further distance himself from the United Kingdom, Trump issued an even more forceful statement portraying the British as opportunists.
“We don't need people joining wars after we've already won them!” he emphasized.
Since last month, when the United Kingdom prevented the United States from using its bases ahead of the planned military offensive against Iran, relations between the governments of both nations have soured, as has also happened with Spain after its refusal to allow the US military to operate from some of its bases.
And as a result of this conflict, Other Middle Eastern countries where US military installations operate have already suffered Iranian drone attacks, which, while not as imposing as an aircraft carrier, are capable of causing severe damage to iconic structures,as they are difficult to detect in time.
