Mayor of Los Angeles prohibits ICE from using city properties
Mayor Karen Bass signed an executive directive to restrict the use of Los Angeles properties by federal immigration agents
Federal agents will not be able to use the city of Los Angeles properties to carry out immigration operations.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass signed an executive order Tuesday aimed at restricting the enforcement of federal immigration laws in city-owned spaces, although there are questions about how the instruction will be enforced.
The measure by the Mayor Bass's actions come eight months after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids were set to intensify in Los Angeles, beginning June 6, 2025.
