The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, ruled out that the United States would carry out a military action in Mexico that allegedly aimed at attack facilities and leaders of organized crime.

“It's not going to happen. We have a security understanding, which we worked on for many months with the US government, and which we agreed upon when it was “The Secretary of State (Marco Rubio)," she stated. In a press conference, the Mexican president responded to an NBC report indicating that Trump planned to expand his military operations in the Caribbean and Pacific into Mexican territory. "We will continue working within this framework of understanding, which has very clear principles outlined at the beginning of this memorandum of understanding: respect for our sovereignty, our territoriality, and collaboration and coordination without subordination of any of the states. So, that's not going to happen. We have no information that this is going to happen," the president reiterated. "Furthermore, we do not agree, and we have made this clear to President Trump. If it comes up in any call, we want to make it clear that this is not our policy and that we do not agree,” she emphasized. From the National Palace in Mexico City, Sheinbaum Pardo explained that in some of the calls she has had with Trump, the US president has offered her help in combating organized crime. “He in the “In phone calls, he's told me, 'Don't you need help? We're ready to send troops and other resources to help you in your fight against organized crime.' And I've always told him, 'Thank you very much, President Trump, but no, Mexico is a free, independent, and sovereign country, and we can coordinate in many ways.' He's always said, 'How can we coordinate?' Well, we can share information, we can do things like we have done so far with training, on both sides of the border,” he said. The Mexican president insisted that collaboration between Mexico and the United States consists of sharing information and providing training. “It has been made clear that we do not agree with any process of interference or intervention, and that we collaborate and coordinate, and that we are a sovereign state,” she stated.
