The GST revenue collection in April 2023 stood at Rs 1.87 lakh crore, which is the highest ever tax collection figure. This information has been given by the Ministry of Finance. According to statistics, the GST collection has been Rs 1.87 lakh crore in the month of April, which is a record so far. Earlier in March 2023, the country's GST collection was Rs 1,60,122 crore. The GST collection in April 2022 was Rs 1,67,540 crore in the last year, which means the GST collection in April this year has increased by Rs 19,495 crore as compared to a year ago. There has been an increase of 12 percent in GST collection this year as compared to a year ago.
Highest GST collection happened on 20 April 2023
According to the data of the Ministry of Finance, the highest GST collection in a single day happened on 20 April 2023. Therefore, a collection of Rs 68,228 crore was done through 9.8 lakh transactions.
