New Delhi: Budget airline IndiGo has announced that it will start flight services between India's industrial capital Mumbai and Turkey's Istanbul in early 2023. In a statement issued by the airline, it has been said that booking for these flights has started from last Tuesday. Through a code share agreement between IndiGo and Turkish Airlines, it was claimed that these new routes and enhanced flight services would improve international connectivity between India-Turkey and beyond.

Vinay Malhotra, Global Sales Head, IndiGo said, “We have opened a new route between Mumbai and Istanbul keeping in mind our goal of increasing global connectivity with India. This will increase global capacity and give consumers more choices. Earlier, IndiGo had introduced its first dedicated cargo aircraft on 29 September. In the passenger segment, the domestic airline averaged 0.6 tonnes of cargo with a passenger share of 56 percent in its passenger flights in 2022. It also became a leader in domestic air cargo due to the total volume generated by it. Now, Airin has an A321 with a carrying capacity of 27 tonnes, which has been converted from passenger segment to cargo.

On the other hand, Tata Group's Air India has said that from the end of the current month i.e. 30 October, it will start many international flight services from many major cities of the country. In this, many new flight services will be started for countries like America and Doha. The company has announced that it will start 20 weekly direct flight services from Hyderabad and Chennai to Doha. At the same time, 40 flight services will start for America from many cities across the country.

There is also news that Air India will also start 42 new flight services for London from different cities of the country. Along with this, Air India has informed its customers that booking of all these flight services has been started.
