Jeep rescues the historic Laredo name on the 2027 Wrangler
Jeep recovers the Laredo name for a special edition of the 2027 Wrangler with classic inspiration, exclusive details and off-road spirit
There are names that never completely disappear and Laredo is one of them for Jeep. The American firm decided to recover this name for a new special edition of the Wrangler 2027, a proposal that mixes elements of its history with an updated design designed for those who enjoy driving off-road.

The model is part of the Twelve 4 Twelve initiative, a program with which Jeep presents special editions inspired by some of the most memorable vehicles of its history. On this occasion, the tribute falls on a version that had great prominence in the 80s and that still retains a special place among the brand's followers.

The concept was initially presented during the Easter Jeep Safari 2026. The good reception it received among attendees ended up convincing Jeep to turn that idea into a production version that will officially arrive as Wrangler Laredo 2027.
A tribute to one of the most remembered versions
The Laredo name appeared in the last years of the CJ family and then accompanied the Wrangler since its launch in 1987. Over time it became an alternative that maintained the off-road capabilities characteristic of Jeep, but offered a more refined presentation.
That legacy now serves as a starting point for an edition that seeks to recover part of that identity. The inspiration comes from the landscapes of the southwestern United States and the aesthetics that marked those classic models.
Among the most striking elements is the return of the tan soft top, accompanied by an exclusive grille with a Gobi finish, retro-inspired side graphics, emblems with bronze details and tow hooks in the same tone. It also incorporates a plaque with the coordinates of Laredo, Texas, as a nod to the history of the name.
Ready to leave the asphalt
Although the design has a strong nostalgic focus, Jeep did not leave aside off-road capabilities. The Wrangler Laredo is based on the Willys version and incorporates the Xtreme 35 package as standard, recognized for improving performance when the road becomes more demanding.
The brand's intention was to offer a vehicle that preserves the adventurous DNA of the Wrangler, but with a more complete level of equipment and an image that is different from the rest of the range.
A more exclusive interior and release date
The news also reaches the cabin. Jeep equipped this edition with seats upholstered in Bison Brown Nappa leather, accompanied by Maya Gold tone stitching that provides a much more elegant appearance without losing the robust character of the model.
The company confirmed that orders for the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo will begin at the end of July 2026. Its starting price will be $53,240, a figure that places it $1,995 above the Wrangler Willys equipped with the Xtreme 35 package.
