Kroger will give away 100,000 private label ice creams to celebrate the summer solstice
The retailer this year exceeds its offer with classic ice cream flavors and other limited edition ones
With the arrival of the summer solstice this Sunday, June 21, the retail chain Kroger announced that it will give away about 100,000 ice creams to its customers of its own brand, which will surprise both with its classic flavors and with other limited edition presentations.
In this regard, Ann Reed, vice president of Kroger's brands group, commented in a statement that “summer is about bringing people together to create memories that last a lifetime, and we are thrilled to capture that fun and nostalgia through our new all-American ice cream collection,” she said.
Every year, the company surpasses its mark; In 2024 he gave away about 45,000 ice creams and in 2025 there were 92,000. “We've loved seeing customers come back year after year for their free pints and now, we're going big: we're giving away 100,000 pints,” added Reed.
Among the flavors that customers will be able to find are the classic Kroger Cookies 'N Cream or Kroger Rocky Road ice cream and other new ones that are inspired by the traditions and tastes that define the American summer, the statement says.
Customers who don't want to miss out on this offer can download their limited-time, one-time digital coupon at FreeKrogerIceCream.com and then can go to any Kroger location and pick up their ice cream.
The retailer will also have a one-dollar discount for the purchase of two pints of Kroger brand ice cream until July 3. Other stores available where you can take advantage of the offer are Ralphs, Fred Meyer and Smith's Food and Drug.
