Zara's parent company announced the closure of about 100 stores in 2025
Inditex, parent company of Zara, Pull&Bear, Bershka, among others, plans to improve its financial future with these closures
According to the company, the reason for this decision is a plan to improve the financial future of the Spanish textile manufacturer and distributor. The report states that 132 stores were closed by the end of 2024, and it was revealed in the middle of this year that Inditex had approximately 5,527 operating stores.
The statement details that so far in 2025, some 60 Zara stores have closed, going from 1,588 to 1,528. The same occurred with Zara Home, which has closed approximately 27 stores to date.
Meanwhile, the total number of Bershka stores grew from 855 to 859 this year, as did Lefties, which increased from 203 stores to 213 this year.
Although the textile giant has been forced to close stores due to low returns, it also plans to open new ones in different states across the country. This year, a phenomenon that has been affecting many retail chains for several years continued: inflation, falling sales, and tariffs have led to store closures.
