The victim, identified as Rakesh Pandey, a 30-year-old textile company worker from Jammu and Kashmir, was discovered lifeless merely 100 meters away from his residence. The tragedy has cast a pall of shock and dismay over the entire locality.
Reportedly, Rakesh was preparing to embark on a journey to Jammu and Kashmir with his brother-in-law Bittu Pandey, intending to catch a train from Siwan Junction on April 12. However, on the fateful night of April 10, he received a mysterious call, prompting him to venture out of his home. While the family members recall hearing unusual noises in the dead of night, their slumber rendered them oblivious to the unfolding tragedy.
The chilling discovery of Rakesh's corpse near the Sati enclave in Bucheya village on Thursday morning sent shockwaves rippling through the community. Promptly responding to the distressing news, SDPO Abhay Kumar Ranjan and Police Station Head Hareram Kumar, accompanied by a contingent of law enforcement personnel, descended upon the scene to initiate a comprehensive investigation. Recovered from the vicinity were the victim's mobile phone and several incriminating items, serving as pivotal leads in the ongoing probe.
Preliminary police findings indicate that Rakesh met a gruesome demise, his throat savagely slit with a knife, with an additional finger severed. Suspicions loom over a potential connection to a romantic entanglement gone awry. Currently, law enforcement officials are diligently scrutinizing the contents of the deceased's mobile phone, striving to unravel the intricate web surrounding the tragic incident. Meanwhile, the victim's remains have been transported to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.
