Abdimahat Bille Mohamed, 28, was released thanks to a surprising plea deal he received in May
A man has been charged with kidnapping and sexually abusing a woman for several days in a Minnesota hotel room, just months after being acquired without prison time for two other attacks, including the rape of a 15-year-old girl at gunpoint Abdimahat Bille Mohamed, 28, was released thanks to a surprising plea deal he received in May in Hennepin County, Minnesota, according to court documents seen by Fox 9. He was first arrested in September for strangling and raping a woman he met on Snapchat, and his DNA linked him to a previous gun attack on a teenage girl. However, he did not serve any prison time after agreeing to a plea deal in May that allowed his prison sentences to be suspended. I have held her captive for days. Now he has been charged with holding a captive woman in a Bloomington, Minnesota, hotel and repeatedly assaulting her in September, just four months after her preferential treatment, according to the court documents. Mohamed met the woman through Snapchat. He allegedly then took her to a hotel, where he raped her for several days before she was able to jump out of his car and call for help, according to the documents.
Previous Attacks
His legal troubles began in May of last year when he was arrested and charged with raping a woman in his Minneapolis apartment. This woman, whom he also met through Snapchat, claimed that Mohamed strangled her and threatened to shoot her if she did not have sex with him.
His DNA later linked him to the 2017 rape of a teenage girl who said he attacked her after she was forced at gunpoint to perform oral sex on another man.
He was sentenced to three years in prison for the attack on the 15-year-old, but the sentence was suspended for five years, meaning he did not serve any prison time.Mohamed was also sentenced to five years of probation, as well as 364 days in the Hennepin County Asylum, but received credit for time served, Fox 9 reported. He was sentenced to 14 months in prison for the 2024 sexual assault, but that sentence was also suspended, meaning he avoided prison. Mohamed was sentenced to an additional 364 days in the Hennepin County Asylum, with credit for time served, and one day of probation. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office justified the sentence. "Due to circumstances that cause difficulties in many cases of criminal sexual conduct, these charges were the available and appropriate ones to ensure a criminal conviction," spokesperson Daniel Borgertpoepping told Fox 9. Mohamed is being held without bail on the latest rape charge. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 31, according to the indictment documents.
