Massacre at party in Texas: two dead and several injured after shooting
An early-morning Saturday shooting during a party at an apartment complex in Amarillo left two people dead and at least eight injured
A shooting in a residential complex in Amarillo, Texas, left two people dead and at least eight wounded, according to the Amarillo Police Department.
The incident occurred around 2:00 morning on Saturday at the Westminster Apartments, located on the c alle Coulter. At the place a party was held which was attended mainly by minors and young adults.
Escalation of violence outside the property
According to authorities, the attack occurred after several people were expelled from a previous location. Subsequently, these individuals followed some attendees to another apartment, where they attempted to enter by force.
It was at that moment when, presumably using a rifle-type weapon, they opened fire on those present.
One of the victims died at the scene, while the second died after being transferred to a medical center. Eight other people were injured and were taken to nearby hospitals in critical condition.
So far, it has not been confirmed whether there were one or several attackers involved in the shooting.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the attack and have not provided additional information regarding possible suspects.
A resident of the area described the shots as similar to “machinegun fire,” which reflects the intensity of the incident.
