Georgia woman who raised funds for her son's wake is suspected in the minor's murder
Raven Louise Broniecki is charged with involuntary manslaughter, child cruelty, criminal neglect, and reckless conduct
A Georgia mother was arrested in connection with the death of her young son.
The Hinesville, Georgia, Police Department announced the arrest of 29-year-old Raven Louise Broniecki.
Liberty County jail records reviewed by People indicate that She was arrested for involuntary manslaughter, child cruelty, second-degree criminal neglect causing mental or physical pain, and reckless conduct. However, she was released on $22,300 bail. The Hinesville Police Department declined to provide further information about the case or the reason for the charges. Her arrest comes after she reportedly launched a now-deleted GoFundMe campaign to raise money for funeral expenses following the death of her son, Keith Richard, according to local news outlets WSAV and WTOC. “My sweet baby, my best friend, my whole world recently passed away,” she wrote in the deleted GoFundMe, according to WTOC. “I'm trying to raise funds for the bills.”
“We spent all our funds on the funeral, urns, and other things for our baby, and now we have a considerable amount of bills and just need help getting back on our feet,” she continued. "We are very stressed and heartbroken. We still have six children to raise and we are doing everything we can."
This comes more than two weeks after the Hinesville Police Department announced it was investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy, who died from a suspected accidental, self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to local media outlets WJCL and Coastal Courier.
Police responded to a home on Slade Street after receiving a report of a child with a gunshot wound. The toddler was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead at 3:50 pm local time, according to the media. Detectives indicated in November that preliminary information showed the incident appeared to be “accidental” and they were still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, according to media reports.
