The court, while hearing the case filed in the Begusarai court, quashed the action of the lower court. Along with this, notice has also been issued to the complainant. Justice Satyavrat Verma heard the matter in Patna High Court. Angry about the web series, Shambhu Kumar filed a petition in the court. Actually, in this controversial web series, it was shown that a woman whose husband was in the army makes physical relations with her friend by wearing an army uniform. Considering it an insult to the army in the court of Begusarai, a case was filed last year i.e. in 2021 itself.
The complainant accused of tarnishing the image of the army
The matter is related to the wrongly depicting of army officers in a serial made by Ekta Kapoor. The complainant Shambhu Kumar has said in the complaint filed in the lower court of Begusarai that an attempt has been made by Ekta Kapoor in her serial to tarnish the image of the army officers by showing them wrongly. On this complaint, the court of Begusarai against Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor.
Taking cognizance under Section 500 and 504 of IPC, a direction was issued to appear in court. Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor have filed this petition challenging the lower court's AC order in the Patna High Court to quash it. Senior advocate Bai V Giri and advocate Nikhil Kumar Agrawal were present in the court on behalf of the petitioners.
