The actress Ivonne Montero sharply denies links with dark rituals
Montero explained that part of her fascination with skulls is thanks to her love for Mexican art.
The Mexican actress Ivonne Montero was the subject of rumors that linked her to practices such as Santeria and even animal sacrifices. However, the artist came forward to categorically deny these speculations, clarifying that her fascination with the macabre is purely aesthetic and cultural, with no relation to occult rituals.
Montero explained that her attraction to skulls and catrinas comes from her admiration for Mexican art, from traditional folklore to contemporary design.
"I collect catrinas, I like the image of the skull," she stated, recalling that this is not the first time she has had to clarify this point. For her, these symbols represent a connection to popular culture, not the supernatural.
The actress was emphatic in differentiating her artistic appreciation for the iconography of death from any religious belief. "I see death not as an entity to be worshipped, but as the act of leaving this world," she explained.
Furthermore, she denied any ties to Santa Muerte or Santeria, denying rumors that arose, in part, from her comments about paranormal experiences.
She wears a mask in the passenger seat of her car
One of the most curious details she shared was her habit of wearing a Halloween mask in the passenger seat of her car. "I put it on because I needed to feel some company," she confessed with a laugh, admitting that the deterrent effect on other drivers has been unexpected. "Sometimes someone approaches and leaves quickly... the truth is, it's impressive."
Ivonne Montero demonstrated that, beyond the misunderstandings, her style is a personal expression without a dark undertone.
