Anne Hathaway revealed that she was blind in one eye for 10 years
The Oscar winner revealed that she was legally blind in her left eye throughout her 30s due to an early-onset cataract.
In a surprising revelation that has shocked the entertainment world, Anne Hathaway confessed to having lived almost blind in one eye for a decade.
The 43-year-old actress detailed that an early-onset cataract severely affected her vision throughout her 30s, a medical struggle she kept strictly secret until surgery resolved the problem.
The protagonist of “The Devil Wears Prada” opened her heart during an interview on The New York Times' Popcast podcast. “This may be too much information, but I was half blind for ten years,” warned the Hollywood star.
As she explained, the condition reached such a critical point that, from a legal perspective, she was practically blind in her left eye.
Hathaway admitted that she didn't truly realize the severity of her diagnosis until she underwent surgery. Upon regaining the full spectrum of his vision, he not only noticed the physical change, but also a deep emotional relief.
"I've calmed down since then. I didn't realize that I was actually exhausting my nervous system," he confessed with remarkable candor.
After overcoming this complex condition - which consists of clouding of the lens and makes everyday tasks difficult - the actress says that she now sees the world with different eyes.
“I appreciate the view because I literally feel that every day I wake up and can see how I do it, it is a miracle,” she concluded, visibly moved.
