Cynthia Erivo reveals the strict regimen she follows to care for her voice
In a chat with "The Hollywood Reporter," the Hollywood star confessed that, as she prepares for her new theater project.
Amid the success of her role as 'Elphaba' in the "Wicked" saga, actress and singer Cynthia Erivo opened up like never before about the strict care regimen she follows to ensure the well-being of her greatest tool: her voice. What did she say? Here's the scoop.
In a chat with "The Hollywood Reporter," the Hollywood star confessed that, as she prepares for her new theater project, the stage production of "Dracula," her daily routine is characterized by many precautions that not everyone would be willing to take.
According to her, the key to healthy vocal cords is not drinking alcohol, not smoking, avoiding eating on airplanes, and traveling with her own supply of water and tea.
This last point is so important to her that no matter where in the world she has to visit, she has a special mug that accompanies her everywhere.
"Someone made a meme of the mug I carry with me because I take it everywhere. I have it in several colors. I'm not going to be without it because I want my tea to always be hot enough to keep me hydrated," she explained.
Although these measures might sound exaggerated to many, Cynthia Erivo is clear that success doesn't come from Without commitments: "This is how I exist. I'll do whatever it takes to make sure it's okay, except, apparently, taking a break," she added. To conclude, the celebrity responded to questions about her project selection process. Regarding this, she indicated that: “If I feel it's something that will force me to discover another part of my character or who I am, then I say yes.”
