Emilio Estefan brings together legends in “America’s Soundtrack”, the musical project of America250
Billy Joel, Carlos Santana, Kool & The Gang, Tony Bennett, James Brown and other artists join the national musical collection produced by Emilio Estefan
America250 announced the completion of Volume 1 of “America’s Soundtrack,” a musical compilation that pays tribute to the people, places, stories and sounds that have shaped America. The project is part of efforts to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
This project was led by the renowned producer and winner of multiple Grammy awards, Emilio Estefan, and is currently available to the public on YouTube. Through their experience, they managed to shape a collection that brings together different generations, genres and voices representative of American musical identity.
In its statement, America250 highlighted that, in addition to including original recordings by the aforementioned artists, the project includes songs such as “American Promise”, “América” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic”, released earlier this year.
According to Emilio Estefan, the selection process took several months and was focused on building an authentic panorama of the country's sounds. Each theme was chosen not only for its cultural relevance, but for its ability to generate a sense of pride and collective connection at a historic moment for the nation.
“Music has always brought people from all walks of life together through rhythms and sounds that reflect our diverse cultures and traditions,” said Emilio Estefan, executive producer of America’s Soundtrack.
"It has been a privilege to help bring together this extraordinary group of artists to create a collection that celebrates the richness of American music. As we commemorate this historic moment, I hope these songs remind us of our shared path, celebrate the many voices that have shaped our nation, and inspire us to remember that we are always stronger when we come together," he added.
The launch follows a series of national celebrations organized by America250 during the Fourth of July, including massive events and special broadcasts that brought together various entertainment figures.
With this first installment, America250 lays the foundations for a project that will continue to grow with new volumes and songs, consolidating itself as a soundtrack that seeks to represent the essence, diversity and evolution of the United States through music.
“Music has always been one of the most powerful ways to bring people together,” said Rosie Ríos, director of America250. “'America's Soundtrack' pays tribute to the songs that have inspired us, moved us and helped tell the story of our country,” he reiterated.
