Dua Lipa and Callum Turner would have brought forward their wedding date
The couple of the moment advances their wedding for next weekend, originally scheduled for September in the capital of Sicily
In an unexpected twist, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have decided to bring their wedding forward three months. As revealed by the Italian newspaper Giornale di Sicilia, the pop star and the actor will say “I do” this coming weekend, from June 5 to 7, modifying their initial plans that pointed to the month of September.
The setting chosen for what is already considered one of the most anticipated links in pop culture is the city of Palermo. The Sicilian capital, which made the three-time Grammy winner fall in love with her during a summer getaway last year, will host a celebration that will take place under absolute protection and in the strictest privacy.
To guarantee the safety of the event, the Palermo City Council's ceremony team is already coordinating preparations with the couple's private security teams, according to the Italian newspaper.
The festivities will be divided into several historical enclaves of the city. The main stage will be the Galleria d'Arte Moderna (GAM), located in the former palace complex of Sant'Anna.
Likewise, another crucial part of the wedding will take place in the majestic Palazzo Gangi, an 18th century building famous for being the setting for the legendary dance in the film “Il Gattopardo” by Luchino Visconti.
In addition, the couple fully booked the luxurious Villa Igea hotel, a belle époque palace on the seafront.
Among the leaked details, it stands out that Dua Lipa will wear a dress made by a local workshop in Palermo, designed by her friend Donatella Versace.
The organization of the event is in the hands of Alessandra Grillo—the prestigious wedding planner who coordinated Chiara Ferragni's wedding—and Elton John is expected to be among the exclusive guests.
