Jennifer Lopez reflected on her failed relationships: “Breakups should be celebrated”
The 56-year-old artist surprised the public during a recent interview by ensuring that separations are synonymous with personal growth
Four marriages, multiple high-profile heartbreaks, and a recent divorce have not diminished Jennifer Lopez's faith in love. Far from adopting a position of victimhood or bitterness, the star surprised the world by revealing a renewed and mature philosophy of life: for her, romantic breakups are not synonymous with failure, but rather a reason for celebration and a process of personal evolution.
During her participation in the popular program Subway Takes, hosted by Kareem Rahma, JLo shared her most intimate reflections on how the end of a romantic relationship can become a powerful tool for self-discovery.
"Breakups are not a failure. Honestly, I feel like they are a springboard to becoming your best version. We should celebrate when we break up," the artist forcefully expressed.
In addition, he proposed a radical change in the social perception of singleness: "People should say, 'Are you done? Congratulations,' because, first, you made a decision; second, it was probably the best thing for everyone."
At 56 years old, López has a love history widely documented by the international press, having married Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, Marc Anthony and, more recently, Ben Affleck. However, the singer looks back with gratitude on her experiences.
As he explained, the greatest evolutionary leaps on an emotional, mental and psychological level that he has experienced in his life have arisen directly from the pain of a separation. “It is the only moment in which you really go deeper,” he confessed, detailing that this is where the necessary questions are born to change and improve internally.
The pop diva also analyzed the roles within a love breakup and came to a conclusion about who is favored after the end of a love story. Having experienced heartbreak from both perspectives—both breaking hearts and suffering loss—Lopez said that whoever takes the emotional hit is the one who truly wins.
"If you are the person whose heart was broken, you are the winner. Because if you go through life breaking hearts and you are the one who never feels anything, you are a loser. If you are that person, you never learn anything," he said.
