Justin Bieber will sing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final
The Canadian artist joins Madonna, Shakira and BTS in a massive event that seeks to raise 100 million dollars for children's education
FIFA and the Global Citizen organization shook the world of entertainment and sports by announcing the incorporation of Justin Bieber to the half-time show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, which will take place next Sunday, July 19 in New Jersey.
Bieber will share the main billboard with music icons such as Madonna, Shakira and the South Korean group BTS, in what will be the first halftime show in the history of the World Cup finals.
The Canadian singer expressed his gratitude for being part of this initiative and highlighted its social impact. “I am grateful to be a part of this halftime show, and even more grateful to know that it is already helping to expand access to education for children around the world,” he said in a statement.
The 11-minute show, curated by Coldplay's Chris Martin, will bring together an unprecedented diversity of talent.
In addition to the main artists, the presentation will feature the participation of African star Burna Boy – who will perform his global hit “Dai Dai” alongside Shakira –, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel leading the New York Philharmonic, the PS 22 school choir and endearing characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.
Beyond the artistic display, the event has a fundamental solidarity background: supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. This initiative aims to raise $100 million to guarantee quality education and opportunities linked to soccer for children in vulnerable communities.
To date, the fund has already surpassed the $50 million raised mark. To continue increasing this figure, it has been established that $1 from each ticket sold for this World Cup matches will be allocated to finance social projects around the planet.
