Maribel Guardia reappears on social media dressed as a Catrina and with an emotional message about the Day of the Dead
The Costa Rican actress took to social media to share a post where she posed dressed as an elegant Catrina in Xochimilco
As part of the Day of the Dead festivities, actress and singer Maribel Guardia has paid an emotional tribute to this pre-Hispanic tradition through a photo shoot where she posed dressed as a Catrina from Xochimilco, Mexico.
Through her official Instagram account, the celebrity, who has appeared in stories like “Corona de Lagrimas” and “Prisionera de amor,” posted an unexpected carousel of images in which she is seen wearing a stunning fitted dress, courtesy of designer Mitzi.
This piece achieved the perfect balance between somber and sophisticated thanks to its sheer fabric, lace, and bejeweled details.
Furthermore, its fitted cut highlighted her hourglass figure at 66 years of age. Alongside the dress, Maribel Guardia wore a black veil and a headdress of marigolds, the emblematic flower of this celebration, as well as Catrina makeup in pink and violet tones, created by makeup artist Hector Guzman. Dressed as an authentic Mexican Catrina, Maribel Guardia posed for photographer Luis Reyes in various locations in Xochimilco: from a flower-filled setting to riding on one of the traditional trajineras (boats) on the canals. Accompanying this creative photoshoot, the artist included a powerful reflection on death: "Death does not take from us, it gives us to God. As we walk among flowers and water, it fills us with love and hope, until we are reunited with our loved ones who have gone before us," reads the caption. netizens were quick to comment on the small-screen star's feat, congratulating her on her creativity, commitment, and above all, the resilience she exemplifies during this time when her son's passing is felt more than ever. "What incredible photos. You look gorgeous, that place is beautiful," "How can you not love Maribel? You are a warrior woman and, despite everything, positive," "All my admiration," “Spectacular,” “Beautiful makeup, beautiful dress, and beautiful photos,” “I love this tradition, thank you for honoring it,” and “The most beautiful woman” are some of the reactions seen online.
