Marimar Vega defends Maite Perroni and condemns the comments about her body
In recent days, Maite Delgado has been harshly criticized for her weight, and the singer also made a video to address it
Actress Marimar Vega came to the defense of her colleague Maite Perroni, who was recently the target of criticism on social media due to her physical appearance. The incident sparked a broad public debate and garnered numerous reactions within the entertainment industry, notably Vega's stance during a press conference. The situation arose after Maite Perroni, former member of the group RBD, participated in the Creative District Congress in El Salvador. While her participation was the main focus, the attention of many internet users quickly shifted to her physical appearance, triggering a wave of derogatory comments. Marimar Vega did not remain silent in response. During a recent event, she openly confronted reporters who were asking questions related to Perroni's body image. Visibly annoyed, Vega questioned: "Aren't you ashamed? Aren't you ashamed to ask those kinds of questions? I'm serious, because today, I mean, it's been said more than, more than, more than said, that we shouldn't talk about bodies, or physical appearance, or other people's bodies." With a forceful message, she urged the media to stop asking those kinds of questions, stating: "Let's stop. I mean, right? Well, I don't think they're obligatory questions. You can ask whatever you want." When asked for a message directed at those who criticize other people's bodies, the actress from the series “Dr. Lucia” was direct: “What I just said.” Maite responded to the criticism about her weight. For her part, Maite Perroni responded directly to the controversy through her social media. With a serene yet firm demeanor, she addressed the issue head-on: "Hi, I'm Maite Perroni. I weigh 72 kilos. And that's not even mentioning myself when I weighed 94. I never thought my weight would become such a relevant topic. Much less when things that are truly important are happening in the world and in our country." The artist not only downplayed the criticism, pointing out that it doesn't affect her personal life, but she also took the opportunity to send a powerful message.
“Honestly, I laugh, because while some people are so busy analyzing my body as if it were a financial report, I'm living in the present,I'm busy raising my daughter, I'm living my real life.”
Perroni concluded by calling on society to reconsider physical stereotypes: “We've tried to change ourselves to fit the stereotypes that society has dictated to us, and we've forgotten who we really are.”
