Shakira breaks record with her residence in Central America
The Colombian star sold out all the tickets for her three shows in El Salvador in less than 24 hours, cementing the success of her tour
Shakira once again demonstrated why she is the most influential Latin artist in the world. In an unprecedented milestone for the entertainment industry in Central America, the singer sold out all three of her scheduled shows at the Jorge “Magico” Gonzalez National Stadium in El Salvador in less than 24 hours. Following the start of ticket sales on December 17, thousands of fans reported virtual queues of up to four hours to secure a spot. "Our residency in Central America has started off on the right foot! It's incredible to know that all three concerts are already sold out. I'll be bringing you new surprises," the Barranquilla native celebrated on her social media. The so-called “historic residency,” scheduled for February 12, 14, and 15, 2026, will welcome more than 82,000 people. A large portion of the attendees are expected to come from neighboring countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, which has increased tourism projections. According to local authorities, the event will generate an estimated economic impact of $25 million and create approximately 11,000 direct and indirect jobs. The Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, confirmed that 100% hotel occupancy is projected in San Salvador during the days of the show. The show promises a cutting-edge experience with 93 tons of technical equipment, including a giant 49-meter screen and artificial intelligence effects. Shakira returns to El Salvador after nearly two decades of absence, reaffirming that her legacy remains as strong as ever in the hearts of her fans.
