'The Kelly Clarkson Show' Announces Its Ending After Seven Seasons
Kelly Clarkson stated that the end of the show represents a big step in her life, as she wants to dedicate herself to her children
After a successful seven-season run, 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' will come to an end with the conclusion of its current season, thus confirming the speculation that has been circulating about its future. The show, distributed by NBCUniversal and one of the last high-end daytime talk shows, will be available until fall 2026. The decision was communicated to the show's technical team and confirms that Kelly Clarkson, whose contract was believed to expire at the end of this seventh season, will not renew her role as host. Clarkson herself explained her decision in a statement: "This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show. Stepping away from the daily grind will allow me to prioritize my children, which I feel is necessary and appropriate for this new chapter in our lives." The announcement comes after a personally difficult year for Clarkson, who took a leave of absence last spring to be with her family while her father battled cancer, and who passed away in August. Although there had been talk of NBCUniversal continuing the show with another host, the decision was ultimately made to cancel it, according to Deadline. Production of the current season will follow its planned schedule with Clarkson at the helm, although it will include some days off for the host and guest hosts.
A Legacy of Success and Awards
Since its premiere in 2019, the show has established itself as a daytime mainstay, consistently ranking among the top programs in the ratings. Its digital impact has also been enormous, surpassing 2 billion annual views on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, largely driven by the viral Kellyoke segment, where Clarkson and her band performed covers of hit songs.
The show, produced by Universal Television and distributed by NBCUniversal Syndication Studios, has garnered an impressive list of awards, including 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four consecutive awards for Best Daytime Interview Series and four for Best Presenter.
