Goa MLAs have opened a front against BJP's star leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani. These days Union Minister Smriti Irani is embroiled in controversies regarding a beer bar in Goa. This beer bar is allegedly being owned by Smriti Irani and her family. The main opposition party Congress is demanding an open investigation in this matter. Goa Congress MLA Sankalp Amonkar on Wednesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding immediate sacking of Union Minister Smriti Irani, so that a free and fair probe can be conducted against her alleged family business in Goa.

According to a report in news agency ANI, Sankalp Amonkar, MLA from Mormugao constituency in Goa, said that various departments in Goa are currently conducting inquiries based on a complaint filed by RTI activist Ed Ayers Rodrigues. Congress MLA Amonkar said that Smriti Irani has once again lied to the entire country on the business run by her family in Goa.

According to MLA Amonkar and opposition party leaders, the bar allegedly belonging to Smriti Irani has been illegally constructed and several laws for liquor licenses have been violated. MLA Amonkar said that there are also doubts that this entire business is being run 'benami' and there is also a possibility that it may be completely benami property.

Referring to Goa Women and Child Development Minister Vishwajit Rane, Congress MLA Amonkar said that Rane has said in a recent statement that Smriti Irani is his 'boss'. He further demanded that Smriti Irani be sacked from the cabinet for a fair and independent investigation.
