Delhi Milk Scheme (DMS) will not be able to supply milk from Saturday. After caustic soda was found in milk, the regional unit of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has suspended the license of Delhi Milk Scheme with immediate effect. In this matter, orders were issued on Friday morning, in which it has been said that DMS will not be able to produce and sell milk in any way.

Two months ago, caustic soda was found in Shadipur plant of DMS, Delhi. At that time it was told that the said milk had been supplied to 400 booths and 800 shops operating in the capital. Accepting this irregularity, DMS had issued a written order to take back all half liter packets.

All booth operators were told to collect all the packets of milk that were no longer fit for drinking and send them to DMS. These milk packets were prepared on July 20 and could be used till July 22.

DMS currently supplies milk in packs of half litre, one liter and five liter in Delhi. This milk is supplied at the booths in Parliament House, MPs' residence, South Avenue, North Avenue, Bengali Market and also to the patients in AIIMS and RML hospitals.
