Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a search operation in several villages along the International Border after receiving information about suspicious drone movement in Jammu and Kashmir 's Samba district. The suspected drone is being told a conspiracy by Pakistan.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Operation) Garu Ram Bhardwaj said that the search operation started at around 7.30 pm on Saturday and lasted till around 9 am on Sunday, but no objectionable object was found during this period. He said an illegal flying object was reported and it is believed to be a Pakistani drone that was flying at around 7.25 pm on Saturday evening over Sarathi Kalan, Dera and Madoon villages near Regal post, 10 km south of Samba. Bhardwaj said, the search operation went on till late night and it was resumed as soon as dawn broke. Searches were conducted within the entire five kilometer radius of the mentioned site. He himself led the search operation in various villages including Chakwal and Bandarali villages along the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
