Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court issues summons against former Union Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and 14 others in an alleged land-for-job case. The court has issued summons to the accused for March 15 after taking cognizance of the charge sheet filed against them by the CBI.

Between 2004 and 2009, Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister in the UPA government. It is alleged that there was a scam in railway recruitment when Lalu was the railway minister. It is being said that instead of getting jobs, land and plots were taken from the applicants.

CBI after investigation in this matter registered a case against Lalu Prasad Yadav and his daughter Misa Bharti. It is alleged that the lands that were taken were also taken in the name of Rabri Devi and Misa Bharti. 

Vijay Singla, nephew of Pawan Bansal, who was the railway minister in the UPA government, has also been accused of another scam related to railway recruitment.

In the case too, the CBI has registered an FIR against 10 including Vijay Singla. Vijay Singla is also accused of money laundering in this case.

IRCTC case is different from railway recruitment scam. IRCTC scam The allegation is also about Lalu being the railway minister in 2004. In fact, the Railway Board at that time had completely handed over the service of railway catering and railway hotels to IRCTC. During this, there were reports of irregularities in the ongoing tender for the maintenance, operation and development of BNR Hotel in Ranchi and Puri. 

This tender was received in 2006 by a private hotel Sujata Hotel. It is alleged that the owners of Sujata Hotels instead gave three acres of land in Patna to the Lalu Yadav family. Which was benami property. In this case also many people including Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav are accused.
