Purvanchal Expressway Collapsed: Purvanchal Expressway is once again in discussion. The rain falling in the month of October has destroyed the strength of this 340.824 km long road. This road, built at a cost of Rs 22,494 crore, got a 15 feet deep pit on Thursday night. Many vehicles got damaged due to this pothole. The matter began to escalate. It was inaugurated on November 14, 2021 at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Since then, this is the second time when rain has caused potholes on this expressway. In such a situation, the opposition parties are also seen attacking the Yogi Adityanath government of the state regarding this. At the same time, people coming and going through this road are hesitant to walk on it.
Congress alleges corruption
According to the information, the road suddenly collapsed near Haliyapur in Purvanchal Expressway. During this, a deep pit of about 15 feet was formed. Many vehicles were damaged in this accident. Some people have also received minor injuries. On information, UPDA team and police personnel reached the spot and started relief work. Overnight the pit has been filled and patched by UPEDA. Now its video is becoming quite viral in social media. Regarding this, while tweeting from the official Twitter account on behalf of the UP Congress, it has been said, 'The recently built 'Purvanchal Expressway' has not been able to see even two rains that it has collapsed. About 15 feet deep crater has become on it near Haliapur police station area. Due to this, many vehicles are also being reported damaged. What can be a bigger proof of the corruption of the government than this?'
Know everything about Purvanchal Expressway
Actually, Purvanchal Expressway is one of the new expressway of India. From the time of its construction, the UP government had praised it a lot. It was opened to the public on November 14, 2021. The inauguration was done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Karwal Kheri in Sultanpur district. The Purvanchal Expressway route enhances UP's connectivity with other states like Delhi in the north and Patna in the east. But many questions have arisen regarding its strength. Starting from Chand Sarai village of Lucknow and ending in Haidaria village of Ghazipur, a 15-feet deep crater has been created due to rain on this road. Several vehicles have been damaged after this incident that happened on Thursday night. This 6-lane road has been constructed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA).
Akhilesh government had started
In future it can also be made of 8 lanes if needed. Purvanchal Expressway passes through nine districts of Uttar Pradesh namely Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur. In March 2015, the then Akhilesh Yadav-led government launched the Purvanchal Expressway project as Lucknow-Azamgarh-Ballia Expressway. Later in October 2015, it was launched as the Purvanchal Expressway project under the Yogi Adityanath-led government. Let us inform that in May 2021 on the Purvanchal Expressway, which was completed about 11 months ago, the beam of the underpass of the expressway between Kuwansi-Haliapur was cracked in the rain for three days. There was a lot of commotion at that time also.
