The Election Commission is going to hold a press conference today regarding the upcoming assembly elections. It is possible that the Election Commission will announce the dates for the assembly elections to be held in Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura. The Election Commission will hold a press conference regarding this at 2:30 pm. 

Speculations are rife that the Election Commission may hold simultaneous elections in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland this time too. The commission has given final shape to the election preparations in all the three states. Now anytime the commission can announce the dates for the assembly elections of these states. The commission has put them into practice after assessing the administrative and on-the-ground election preparations on 180 assembly seats in the three states. The tenure of their assemblies is ending in March. 

 

Elections are to be held in nine states this year. It is known that assembly elections are to be held in nine states this year. These include Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Telangana. Immediately after this, the Lok Sabha elections are to be held in the beginning of next year i.e. 2024.
