Indian Railways announces train cancellations and partial route changes due to development works. Passengers traveling via Kiul-Jasidih rail section are advised to check schedules before planning their journey.

Indian Railways cancels several trains and modifies routes due to ongoing infrastructure development. Passengers are urged to stay updated to avoid travel disruptions.

Travel Advisory for Train Passengers

If you are planning to travel by train soon, this news is crucial for you. Indian Railways has announced the cancellation and partial modification of several trains. Passengers traveling without prior knowledge of these changes might face disruptions or have to cancel their journeys midway.

According to railway officials, these changes are part of ongoing development and maintenance projects. As a result, trains operating on the Kiul-Jasidih rail section, including the Howrah-Jammu Tawi Express, will be affected. It is advised to confirm your train schedules before starting your journey.

Reasons Behind the Train Cancellations

Speaking on the issue, Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer of Hajipur Zone, explained that renovation work at Jammu Tawi Railway Station is underway. This includes pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking operations, necessitating temporary changes to train operations. Due to these works, the Howrah-Jammu Tawi-Howrah Express and several other trains passing through the Kiul-Jasidih rail section have been canceled or rerouted.

Key cancellations include:

  • Howrah-Jammu Tawi Express: Cancelled on March 1 and 4.
  • Jammu Tawi-Howrah Express: Will not operate on March 3 and 6.

Passengers planning to travel on these dates are strongly advised to make alternative arrangements.

Partial Route Changes for Trains

In addition to cancellations, several trains will operate with partial route changes. Notably, the Howrah-Jammu Tawi Express will terminate at Vijaypur Station instead of its original destination, Jammu Tawi, on specific dates between January 17 and February 28. The affected dates include:

  • January: 17, 18, 21, 24, 25, 28, 31
  • February: 1, 4, 7, 8, 11, 14, 15, 18, 21, 22, 25, 28

This partial termination is necessary to facilitate the renovation work at Jammu Tawi Station. Passengers traveling beyond Vijaypur Station will need to plan their journeys accordingly.

Impact on Passengers

The cancellations and route changes are expected to impact thousands of passengers. Those traveling for essential purposes, including work or medical appointments, should take note of these updates to avoid inconvenience. Additionally, travelers are advised to use official railway inquiry systems or online portals to stay informed about the latest changes.

The Indian Railways has urged passengers to cooperate during this period, as these development works are aimed at enhancing infrastructure and ensuring better services in the future.

Steps to Avoid Travel Disruptions

To ensure a hassle-free journey, follow these tips:

  • Check train schedules on the official Indian Railways website or app before leaving for the station.
  • Subscribe to SMS or email alerts for real-time updates about train cancellations and delays.
  • If your train has been canceled, explore alternative travel options like buses or flights for urgent trips.
  • Contact railway helpline numbers for assistance and clarification regarding your travel plans.

The Indian Railways’ decision to cancel and reroute trains comes as part of its ongoing commitment to infrastructure improvement. While these changes may cause temporary inconvenience, they are expected to enhance passenger safety and operational efficiency in the long run. Travelers are encouraged to stay informed and make necessary adjustments to their plans.
