'Trump is going to deport you,' man yelled at Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost before punching him

“Last night, a man assaulted me at the Sundance Film Festival. He told me Trump was going to deport me before punching me in the face,” Frost wrote in X. “He was heard yelling racist comments as he ran away drunk. The man was arrested and I am fine.” The arrested man is identified as 28-year-old Christian Joel Young, following the assault at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, according to an affidavit. Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Yvette D. Clarke (NY), in line with her colleagues in the legislative group, called the attack on Frost “cowardly.” “The racist and cowardly assault on our colleague, Congressman Maxwell Frost, at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend is abhorrent and unacceptable,” she said. “We are relieved that Congressman Frost is safe and we thank the venue security personnel and local authorities for their swift action in apprehending the perpetrator.” Clarke addressed political violence in the US “Political violence has no place in our democracy, period,” she said. “This attack on Congressman Frost should never have happened, and each of us has a responsibility to condemn it in the strongest possible terms.” Young is also accused of grabbing a woman by the shoulder. He allegedly stormed the party by jumping a fence and had a Sundance Film Festival pass that was not in his name, according to the police affidavit.
