Border czar lashes out at violence recorded during an ICE operation on a farm
Tom Homan warns that if Democrats continue to support immigrants and discredit ICE, violence will escalate to the point of causing deaths
Thomas Douglas Homan, appointed border czar by President Donald Trump, severely criticized the acts of violence recorded on Thursday during an operation that agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) carried out with the objective of detaining some foreigners without legal status who worked for a farm located in Ventura County, Southern California.
Vehicles from the Border Patrol and Customs and Border Protection Office blocked the road that allowed workers to enter and exit land belonging to Glass House Farms, where in addition to tomatoes and cucumbers, cannabis cultivation was also permitted.
During the ICE operation, dozens of people were arrested, but minutes later a confrontation broke out between a large group of civilians who were angrily protesting by throwing rocks and agents trying to repel them, even using tear gas.
The violence escalated to the point that one of the protesters even pulled out a gun and began pointing it at the ICE agents.
Despite the complex situation, no injuries were reported and minutes later the immigration personnel withdrew from the area.
“What happened in California is just another example of how protesters become criminals, and they have been emboldened even by members of Congress who compare ICE to Nazis, racists and terrorists. I said months ago that this would end with a loss of life and it has not,” he said.
Given the gravity of seeing a civilian pointing a gun at ICE personnel, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) published a message on social networks offering $50,$000 will be awarded to anyone who provides reliable information leading to the capture of the man whose image, pointing a gun at several officers, is circulating on social media, thanks to the incident being recorded with the help of mobile phones.
