Zelensky says he wants to end quickly War with Russia
The Ukrainian president arrived in Washington on Sunday night for a meeting with President Donald Trump and a group of European leaders
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said all sides seek a swift end to Russia's war in his country and called for lasting peace as he arrived in Washington Sunday evening for a meeting with the U.S. president.
"I thank the U.S. president for his invitation. We all share a strong desire to end this war quickly and reliably," Zelensky posted on social media.
Zelensky added that he hopes "that our shared strength with the United States and our European friends will compel Russia to achieve real peace."
Three killed in Russian attack on Kharkiv
On the eve of the meeting in Washington, at least three people were killed, including a child, and 17 were injured in a Russian drone attack on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.
“Three people were killed, including a young child. Another 17 were injured, including six children,” Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov posted on Telegram.
The city, close to the Russian border, had been hit hours earlier by a ballistic missile that injured at least 11 people, Terekhov added.
