Mike Pence assures that history will show that Donald Trump was right to attack Iran
Mike Pence is convinced that Donald Trump was right to attack Iran; meanwhile, a Yale graduate professor warns that the US could be defeated
Mike Pence, former vice president of the nation, backed President Donald Trump for ordering the attack on Iran and predicted that history will show that the position taken was the correct one.
After several months of distancing himself from New York magnate, his policies implemented since returning to the White House, and even for competing against Him during the campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, Pence acknowledged his leadership in launching a military offensive against the Iranian regime.
“The administration, once again, engaged diplomatically, not only on a nuclear program, but also by telling Iran: 'You have to end this support for malignant influence and terrorism throughout the region,' 'You have to accept limitations on your ballistic missile and long-range missile program.' In the end, history will record that the president made the right decision. The presented opportunity itself, and the president decided to deploy our armed forces,” the Ohio conservative stated during his appearance on the television program “The Source,” which airs on CNN.
However, the armed conflict triggered by Trump is beginning to show that it could be more complex than he considered and even long-lasting, as, according to international media reports, it is escalating very rapidly and is already affecting at least 14 countries in the Middle East, as well as nearby regions.
In fact, during an interview on the “Breaking Points” podcast, Professor Jiang Xueqin—renowned in academic circles in China, Canada, and the United States for having predicted Donald Trump's return to the White House and the conflict between the United States and Iran—argues that Washington underestimates the Islamic Republic and that this could lead it to lose the war, which would be historic.
According to his analysis, Iran's strategy of attacking its neighbors in the Middle East is aimed at affecting the six member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).In this sense, their offensive would seek to affect the energy infrastructure and desalination plants of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain,Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, thus generating a crisis that would be blamed on the United States by jeopardizing the supply of drinking water, since desalination plants provide approximately 60% of the water in the Gulf countries. And the most absurd thing is that it only required drones, which are relatively inexpensive compared to US military equipment. Another determining factor, according to Xueqin, would be the possible closure of the Strait of Hormuz, as this would severely affect trade, since a large portion of the oil and up to 90% of the food consumed by the GCC countries passes through this waterway.
