Indian batsman and former Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane is going to become a father for the second time. Rahane's wife Radhika Dhopavkar shared a picture of the family on Instagram and hinted that the second child is due in October this year. Rahane became a father for the first time in October 2019, when his wife Radhika gave birth to daughter Arya. Radhika's post on the social media site came on Friday evening and even her close friend and Indian captain Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh received a response.

The post was flooded with wishes and blessings for the Indian cricketer's upcoming child. The post had a picture of Rahane's lovely family in which Rahane is standing behind his wife, while his lovely daughter is clasped by the mother. Rahane was last seen playing for the national team in the Test series against hosts South Africa earlier this year. The right-handed batsman could only manage 133 runs in seven matches with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022.

Rahane got injured in the final game of the season for the franchise and was ruled out for the rest of the tournament. Earlier in June, the middle-order batsman led India to a sensational Test series victory in Australia. He then spoke about his injury and his rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. He made a post that the injury was really unfortunate. But my rehab is going very well. I'm getting really well.

He said that I was in Bangalore (in NCA) for about 10 days and I am going there again for my rehab and recovery. It's on track. So right now my focus is only on getting better. Get fit as soon as possible and get on the field. He said in June I don't know when I will be fully fit, it may take about 6-8 weeks. To be expected, but at this point it's about to take one day at a time, a week at a time.
