Monterey once again became the world capital of motoring. Between August 8 and 17, 2025, the Californian peninsula brought together collectors, manufacturers, drivers, and fans for a week that combined the elegance of classic cars, the glamour of multi-million dollar auctions, and the excitement of the industry's most innovative debuts.

The 2025 edition of Monterey Car Week not only met the high expectations it always generates, but also left behind historic moments that are now part of the collective memory of enthusiasts.

From a Ferrari 250 GT that reached astronomical bidding prices to the world debut of the Acura RSX Prototype EV, the event demonstrated that tradition and innovation can coexist in perfect harmony.

A week full of history and adrenaline

The celebration officially kicked off on August 8 with the Monterey Car Week Kick-Off, held on the emblematic Alvarado Street.

The festive atmosphere attracted entire families who enjoyed live music, local cuisine and, above all, the exhibition of 30 historic racing cars that marked different eras of motorsports.

Attendees were not only able to see them up close, but also chat with the drivers, giving them a unique insight into the world of racing.

The opening weekend was marked by the Monterey Pre-Reunion (August 9 and 10) at Weather Tech Raceway Laguna Seca, where more than 200 historic cars took to the track.

Practice and qualifying served as a prelude to what would be one of the most spectacular weeks of the calendar.

Record-breaking auctions

Other examples that caught the eye were a Ferrari F40 LM and the legendary Ruf CTR Yellowbird, both offered by RM Sotheby’s. Broad Arrow Auctions surprised with the sale of a Maserati MC12 Stradale, while Bonhams added rarities that ignited the passion of collectors.

Along with the cars, the Automobilia Collectors Expo (August 11-13) offered a journey through history through pieces of memorabilia. Highlights included Donald Osborne's collection, as well as an impeccably preserved 1954 Jaguar XK120.

Pebble Beach, the jewel in the crown

The event culminated on August 17 with the eagerly awaited Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, which once again brought together the most exquisite vehicles on California's most iconic golf course.

The 2025 edition celebrated historic centenaries such as those of Invicta, Moretti and Chrysler, while Porsche had a special place with the presence of 911 models Targa and 912, which captivated experts and enthusiasts.

Best of Show, the Concours' highest award, was presented to a model that epitomized aesthetic perfection, exclusivity, and historical legacy. Although competition is fierce each year, the selection made it clear that automotive excellence remains at the heart of the event.

In parallel, on August 15, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, took place, a gathering where luxury took center stage. With a selection of elite cars, high-end cuisine, and an exclusive atmosphere, the event was once again one of the most coveted, with tickets selling out months in advance.

Thematic Gatherings and Fun

Beyond the grand stages, Monterey Car Week also shone with more intimate and themed events. The Ferrari Owners Club Concours Carmel (August 14) brought together iconic models from the Italian brand, while the Legends of the Autobahn celebrated German engineering with examples from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi.

The Little Car Show in Pacific Grove brought smiles to the faces with a display of compact vehicles full of personality, and the irreverent Concours d'Lemons was once again the place for the eccentric, presenting unusual cars that challenged convention with humor and creativity.

Innovation and World Premieres

While history and classics took center stage, a look to the future was also present. One of the most talked-about moments was the world debut of the Acura RSX Prototype EV, an electric SUV that represented the brand's new direction toward sustainable mobility.

Karma Automotive surprised with the presentation of the Amaris coupe, a luxury hybrid with a starting price of $200,000, while Rivian showed the R1S Quad Pebble Beach Edition, which was also auctioned for charity.

The Porsche Santa Clarita booth captured the attention of fans with a customized 997 Porsche 911 GT3 as a tribute to Manthey Racing, a model that combined history and modernity in equal parts.

Community and social causes

Monterey Car Week 2025 was not only a showcase of luxury, but also a space for inclusion and solidarity. The Prancing Ponies Women's Car Show highlighted the participation of women in motorsports, with more than 100 women-owned cars on display.

Meanwhile, the Concours for a Cause allocated resources to local organizations, reinforcing the community spirit that has accompanied the event for years.

The traditional Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance once again traveled along the picturesque 17-Mile Drive with 150 collector cars, providing residents and visitors with an unforgettable parade. Finally, the Monterey Motorsports Festival closed out the week with drift exhibitions and live music, capping off ten intense days of celebration. With the 2025 edition over, Monterey Car Week reaffirmed why it is considered the mecca of global motorsports.
