In the wake of Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification from the Paris Olympics, BJP leader and former Haryana Minister Anil Vij has expressed his deep disappointment, stressing that the matter should remain free from political controversy. The disqualification of Phogat, one of India’s most promising wrestlers, has shocked the nation and raised concerns about the fairness of the competition.

Phogat, who was competing in the women’s 50kg freestyle wrestling category, was disqualified after being found overweight by 100 grams. Despite her best efforts to make weight, she failed to meet the strict criteria for her gold medal match.
