Mexican driver Pato O'Ward obtained second place in the 260 laps of the Bommarito Automotive Group 500. With this result, O'Ward reduced points in the IndyCar drivers' championship standings.

David Malukas took the lead over Will Power (Team Penske), Scott McLaughlin (Team Penske) and Mexico's O'Ward.

Devlin DeFrancesco (Rahal – Letterman) brought out the first caution after hitting the wall in Turn 4 at World Wide Technology Raceway.

Will Power brought out another caution after hitting the wall in Turn 3. Scott McLaughlin (Team Penske) took the lead at the restart (lap 59) and held the lead until the third caution came out on lap 130.

Josef Newgarden (Team Penske) flew through the air when he met Louis Foster (Rahal – Letterman) in the middle of the track.

The Mexican driver took the first place on lap 151, although he lost the position to Connor Daly on lap 154 ??and held the second position until the fourth caution came out.

Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi) took the lead on the restart on Lap 119, but with six laps remaining, Kyle Kirkwood took over the lead.

Pato O'Ward maintained second place, although he found it difficult to take the top spot. The IndyCar schedule continues next weekend from June 20-22 at Road America for the XPEL Grand Prix.

The result was Kirkwood's fifth career win and third of 2025, but it was his first on an oval and at any track outside of a street road course. This was the fourth time O'Ward has finished in the top five, although he still has no wins.

Kirkwood, meanwhile, is just two points behind the Mexican and has three wins in 2025. Pato O'Ward is 73 points behind in the drivers' championship.
