Ricardo Gareca Spear a wink to Club America
The former Chilean national team coach acknowledged that one of his pending issues is managing the Aguilas del America. Ricardo Gareca has the credentials to do it.
Las Aguilas del America is one of the most important clubs in Mexican soccer. The blue-cream team has greatness at the local and continental level. The “legend” of America reaches all the way to South America, and a respected coach like Ricardo Gareca has them on his radar.
Ricardo Gareca was an outstanding player, and as a coach, he was no slouch with his exploits. “El Tigre” spoke about what his goal would be to achieve. He is interested in coaching the Azulcrema team at some point.
“A team that stayed with me, that suddenly had excited me, America de Mexico. "I know the size of America; that was a team that stood out to me," Gareca said on the program Los Edul.
Ricardo Gareca is currently unemployed after his time with the Chilean national team. But the "Tigre's" credentials meet the demands of a team like America.
Ricardo Gareca managed Independiente, Talleres, Colon, Argentinos Juniors, and Velez Sarsfield in Argentina; Universitario in Peru; Independiente Santa Fe in Colombia; and Palmeiras in Brazil.
At the national team level, Ricardo Gareca has managed the Peruvian and Chilean delegations. However, the "Tigre's" most memorable stage was with the "Incas", a team he led to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Failure in Chile
After an outstanding performance with the Peruvian national team, Chile requested the "Tigre's" services. However, Ricardo Gareca was part of a team with little generational change and that failed to mesh with his ideas.
Ricardo Gareca only managed 16 matches during his time with "La Roja", in which he left a record of 4 wins, 3 draws, and 9 losses. The problem is that in official matches, the "Tigre" only managed 1 victory.
