Amaury Vergara hopes that Mexico and South Korea advance to the next phase
The owner of Chivas officially welcomed the Asian team at the Verde Valle facilities and hopes to see them in the next phase of the World Cup
Amaury Vergara, owner of Chivas del Guadalajara, assured that Mexico and South Korea are the teams that must advance to the next phase within the group A activity of the 2026 World Cup, at the official welcome ceremony for the South Korean team to the Verde Valle facilities.
Vergara met at the facilities of the Guadalajara team, where the Asian team held its first training session ahead of the debut against the Czech Republic next Thursday, June 11 at the Guadalajara stadium (Akron), where they will try to add their first victory of the competition.
"South Korea knows what it means to host a World Cup. We understand the commitment and responsibility that comes with hosting a national team of its stature. We are confident that we will exceed your expectations.
"I would like to wish you the best of luck. I hope that Mexico and South Korea advance together to the next phase. Feel at home and enjoy this city as much as we love it. Thank you very much and welcome," said the Guadalajara businessman from the side of the field where the South Koreans trained.
The owner of the Sacred Flock highlighted that the presence of the World Cup teams, their training sessions and the matches that will be played at the Guadalajara stadium (Akron) is a reflection of the effort that was made to fine-tune these facilities within the FIFA portfolio.
"Your matches in Guadalajara will be played in one of the best stadiums in the world. The Guadalajara Stadium was built more than 15 years ago with the dream of hosting a World Cup. And very soon, that dream will come true with national teams and world-class players, like you.
Vergara placed special emphasis on the entire accumulation of works that were carried out both in the surroundings of Chivas and in the city of Guadalajara, where the authorities made an effort to improve the entire infrastructure of the capital, its primary roads, the air terminal and the transportation system.
The Guadalajara stadium will be active with four World Cup matches, such as South Korea vs. Czechia, Mexico vs. South Korea on June 18, Colombia against Congo on June 23 and Uruguay vs. Spain on June 26.
