Goalkeeper of the Ecuadorian National Team is arrested for drunk driving

Ecuadorian goalkeeper Gonzalo Valle, current goalkeeper for Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito (LDU) and the Ecuadorian National Team, was arrested last Friday after being caught driving under the influence of alcohol, exceeding the limits allowed by Ecuadorian law.
According to national media, the footballer will have to serve 20 days in a detention center traffic violators in Quito, in addition to other sanctions handed down by the courts.
Fixed fine and license suspension for Gonzalo Valle
Ecuadorian judge Victor Romero sentenced Valle to pay a fine equivalent to three unified basic salaries, amounting to $1,446, as well as suspending his driver's license for 60 days.
The sanction was given after it was confirmed that the player violated current traffic regulations, which aggravated his legal situation off the field.
LDU issues statement without officially confirming the case
Although Liga de Quito did not officially confirm the arrest, it did issue a statement indicating that the footballer “is facing a personal situation, derived from an event that occurred outside the sporting arena.”
The club added that it will act “in accordance with internal regulations and the values ????that the govern,” in addition to providing “the corresponding institutional support, with responsibility and respect, so that Gonzalo's professional activity is affected as little as possible until this unfortunate situation is resolved."
Valle's current sporting situation and recovery process
The Ecuadorian goalkeeper is going through a delicate period, as he is recovering from an injury that has kept him off the field since last October. He had only recently resumed training normally with his team in January.
