Oliver Torres spoke about German Berterame's likely departure to Inter Miami
The Spaniard sent his best wishes to Berterame; Oliver Torres believes there is good material to replace him. He stressed that he hasn't left yet.
The German Berterame and Rayados de Monterrey saga is still developing. The Mexican national team player is reportedly in advanced talks to join Inter Miami of Major League Soccer. Oliver Torres, Berterame's teammate at Monterrey, spoke about this possible departure. In statements compiled by Record, Oliver Torres emphasized that German Berterame remains his teammate until an official announcement is made. However, the Spaniard acknowledged that he wishes him well wherever he decides to go this season. “German is still ours; in fact, he's with us, he's also in the team talks preparing for the match, just in case. Obviously, as you say, beyond the numbers, he's a great teammate. I always wish good people well. In football, a thousand things can happen with a possible departure, and in the end, it doesn't materialize. I'm telling you this from my own experience. So, as of today, German is our teammate, he's an incredible player, an incredible person, and I hope he does well,” Torres concluded. However, reports have described this case as a nearly completed transaction. Only the official announcement from both clubs is missing. In that case, Oliver Torres believes that Rayados de Monterrey has interesting Mexican players who could fill his shoes without needing to go to the transfer market. “If he leaves, then I wish him the best. I’m sure that with the team we have here, the players we have—Robert, Anthony, and Moxica, as well as the Mexicans—we also have to bet on the homegrown talent who are working hard. The squad is incredible, and I repeat, he hasn’t really left yet, he’s still with us, and as of today, he’s just another teammate,” he added.
