Corona virus has once again started wreaking havoc all over the world. The new variant has raised the concerns of experts. Here, in view of the increasing cases of corona, a lockdown has been imposed in Shanghai, China.

In the Yangpu district of Shanghai, China's largest city, all 1.3 million residents have been ordered to undergo a coronavirus test and have been asked to stay indoors at least until the results are out.

It is noteworthy that in the summer season, due to the implementation of a two-month lockdown in the city with a population of 25 million, the economy was badly damaged. There was a shortage of food and there were clashes between residents and officials. At the beginning of the lockdown, the officials had said that it was only a matter of a few days but then kept on extending its deadline.

President Xi Jinping's third term was approved in the ruling Communist Party's session, after which China has shown no signs of backing out of its tough policy towards Corona. Strict rules have been enforced across the country, from Shanghai in the east to Tibet in the west, where demonstrations have been witnessed against the lockdown.
