California Governor Gavin Newsom announced Sunday that he has formally requested that the Trump administration reverse the deployment of the National Guard in Los Angeles County and return command of the military forces to him.
On social media, Newsom Newsom released the letter he sent to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth asking him to withdraw military forces from the streets of Los Angeles.
“I have formally requested that the Trump Administration reverse the unlawful deployment of troops to Los Angeles County and return them to my command,” Newsom wrote in his message on X.
