El Jando, pilot of Los Chapitos reached an agreement with the USA.
Mauro Alberto Nunez, alias “El Jando” would have participated in the air transfer of Joaquin Guzman Lopez and Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada to the US in 2024
Mauro Alberto Nunez Ojeda, alias “El Jando”, identified as alleged pilot in the service of the Los Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel, reached or an agreement with the United States government to plead guilty to charges related to drug trafficking, in accordance with judicial documents.
The agreement was signed before a federal court in Washington, where Núñez Ojeda accepted his participation in a conspiracy to traffic cocaine into U.S. territory.
US investigations indicate that “El Jando” would have worked as a pilot for the criminal organization headed by the children of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
Various versions also link it with the air transfer of Joaquín Guzmán López and Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada to the United States in 2024, an episode that detonated tensions within the Sinaloa Cartel.
According to judicial information, the alleged criminal operator pleaded guilty on 9 April 2026.
The agreement contemplates cooperation with the US authorities, although so far the full terms and a possible ruling have not been made publicly known.
The case occurs in the amid of increasing pressure by the US government against members and collaborators of Los Chapitos, an organization nominated for trafficking of fentanyl and other drugs to that country.
