Harfouch alleged that Bosch had “bought” her crown and vowed to seek justice to take the title away from her. These accusations fueled hundreds of cruel comments in official Miss Universe publications, directed at both the winner and the event organization. In addition, another pageant judge suggested that the process was not as “transparent” as it once was. Faced with these accusations, the Miss Universe management did not remain silent. Raul Rocha, the pageant director, came forward to categorically deny Harfouch's claims. In a meeting with the media, Rocha stated that it was not a resignation, but a dismissal. Rocha was emphatic in pointing out that Harfouch's actions stemmed from a desire for attention: “He lied because he wants the spotlight for two minutes.
