Los Angeles County officials have issued high temperature advisories for certain parts, urging residents to take precautions to avoid illnesses related to extreme heat.

The county Department of Public Health said in a statement that the National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting an increase in temperatures starting Sunday and continuing at least through Tuesday, September 2.

Officials issue heat advisories when hot conditions are expected to cause discomfort and possibly lead to heat-related illnesses in some people, especially those who are vulnerable to heat.
